Modern Wedding Photography by Wisconsin Photographer Jamie M Swanson bio picture

Welcome to Jamie M Swanson Photography!

Thank you for visiting Jamie M Swanson Photography! We're located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin but are available to travel to your location. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by!

Modern Wedding Photography

My passion is to capture stunning images of your wedding as the day unfolds. This means my style is mostly photojournalistic, preserving the emotions and moments of your wedding for years to come. I also photograph the details that you have planned out so meticulously for months in advance. My style is not that of most standard photographers - rather than simply documenting the day, I strive to tell a story and create works of art for you to cherish. Take some time to look around the site and you'll see what I mean. Here's a few of the weddings I've shot recently: Les & Sherri, Mike & Melissa, and Nick & Samantha.

I'm also available for limited portrait work. I especially enjoy working with seniors and newborns. I strive to capture the essence of the people I'm photographing, meaning your photos will not be stiffly posed photos. I do all of my portrait work on-location at the location of your choice.

Scroll down to see my most recent work (my blog) and the occasional personal note. As you're browsing my site, please leave me a few comments! I value your feedback and love to hear what's on your mind.

Wisconsin Winter Engagement Portraits ~ Nick & Amanda

Amanda and I went to college together and both joined InterVarsity staff afterwards. She is SO MUCH FUN - I just love her! So I can’t tell you how excited I was when she got engaged and asked me if I would photograph her wedding this April! Not only that, but she and her also-super-fun fiance Nick were game for just about anything I wanted to do for their winter engagement photos. They were fantastic – they got up early, they went out in the cold & snow without coats (it was about 20 degrees with a slight wind), they went sledding, and they played in the snow for me…it was just SO much fun! There was so much laughter and joy…I can’t wait to see the wedding. Congrats, you guys. I can tell you’re just going to love being married!

January 17, 2010 - 8:12 pm Ben Godkin - Oh man! I would love to shoot an e-session in the snow... but I think my hands would fall off... Great job! It looks like y'all had a lot of fun!

January 17, 2010 - 10:26 pm Sweet Caroline Photo - Great stuff! We don't have that thing you call snow here in Texas.

January 17, 2010 - 10:42 pm Jamie M Swanson - Snow is certainly fun to shoot in on occasion, but I much prefer the warm weather. It's sometimes hard to get people to not look stiff when they are freezing! But yes, it's fun to shoot in once in awhile....Thanks for the kind words!

January 18, 2010 - 2:11 am Paul Von Rieter - Your Black and whites are breath taking. I wish it snowed where I live so I could do something like this!

Coincidentally Fon du Lac happens to be where my wife's father was born. She was telling me the area is beautful and we should go up there someday.

January 19, 2010 - 8:27 am Phill - Images as crisp and vibrant as the snow they were taken in. Lovely work Jamie.

January 19, 2010 - 10:21 am Jamie M Swanson - Well if you ever do decide to come up, make sure to drop me a line and I'd love to grab a cup of coffee. I love networking with other photographers and hearing more about what life is like in their neck of the woods.
