Romantic Madison Engagement Pictures at the Capitol ~ Cat & Tony

Despite a rally, closed parking ramps, and road construction, we managed to finally come together for Cat & Tony’s engagement photos at the Capitol in Madison, WI. Cat is a photographer in Dubuque, IA so it was really an honor to be selected to photograph their wedding later this month.

The light….oh the light. There’s little better than two beautiful, fun people who let me take their photos in amazing delicious light. I love the sun. See for yourself.

Modern Madison Overture Center Wedding Photography ~ Zack & Alene

When Zack and Alene contacted me to tell me about their wedding, I immediately got excited! Madison Overture Center? Fabulous! A non-traditional afternoon reception with board games all around and ridiculously delicious hors d’oeuvres? Sweet! And their wedding was so laid-back and lovely. They wrote the entire ceremony themselves, walked down the aisle together, and ended the ceremony with a beautiful toast. Such a personal and lovely day overall filled with laughter and fun.

The Overture Center is pretty much a photographer’s dream: perfect lighting, modern architecture, and all sorts of places to get unique photos. Such an amazing wedding venue! Let’s just say that I had a very hard time narrowing it down, so this will be a rather long blog post. There are also lots of ring shots, but there were just so many fun things to take photos with that I couldn’t help myself. Enjoy!

Fall Engagement Portraits ~ Michelle & Chad

Michelle and Chad are a load of fun. Seriously, I love this couple. I have the best clients ever. They were both so laid back and made my job as a photographer incredibly easy. I knew they were my kind of people when Chad picked some flowers from a nearby flower bed to give to Michelle because I have been known to do the same thing more than a few times. We took their fall engagement photos in Appleton at Lawrence University and also down by the river. Thanks so much for such a fun time! You guys are great and I can’t wait until your wedding!

Trash the Dress at the Fondy Sports Park ~ Emily & Nick

Emily & Nick wanted to do something fun the day after their wedding before heading off to their honeymoon and didn’t want traditional portraits. When they suggested getting dressed up in their wedding attire and heading out the Fondy Sports Park to ride in go-carts and play mini-golf, I was thrilled. Talk about a fun time together! And no, the dress was not “trashed” or ruined at all, although it did get a bit wet at the end.

Free Wedding Photography Giveaway 2010!

Happy New Year! I’m so excited about the new year and what’s in store. I couldn’t think of a better way to start out the new year than with a wedding photography giveaway! My fellow friend and wedding photographer Andy Stenz and I are giving away a free day of wedding coverage to one lucky couple this year – just like we did last year! Want to know the details, read all the information below. Here’s to a wonderful 2010 for you and yours!

Why are you doing this?

We love photographing weddings and count it a blessing to participate in so many wedding day celebrations. We want to be able to give back some of that blessing by lending our time and talents to a lucky couple.

What does the couple get?

A full day of wedding coverage from the two of us. We’ll be with you in the morning when you get ready right through to the reception where everyone lets loose. We’ll then edit the photos and get them to you on disk, ready for printing. We’ll also upload the files to an online gallery that you can share with family and friends.

How will this work?

The couple, a family member or their friends submit the couple’s story via email to freewedding@andystenz.com. The stories will be read by us and our spouses. Among the four of us, we will choose a couple and announce the lucky couple on February 14th. If you aren’t the couple, please confirm with them that they don’t already have a photographer before you send in the entry. Submissions are due by January 31st, 2010 at midnight CST.

Are there any rules?

The couple must be getting married in 2010. The date must be open on our calendars. If there is a conflict in dates (if we both aren’t available for your wedding), we’ll let you know right away.
The wedding has to be in Wisconsin within approximately 75 miles of West Bend. Think mainly Madison to Green Bay to Milwaukee. If you’re not sure, submit it anyway, that’s just a rough guideline as we are based out of different cities ourselves.
We can’t already know you (we don’t want to show favorites). And we can’t have already been in contact with you for a wedding next year.

What do I need to include in my submission?

The bride and groom’s first and last names and their contact information.
The couple’s story (how they met, got engaged, and why they should be chosen for free wedding coverage, anything fun you want us to know about them – creativity is encouraged!).
The wedding date and locations (of the ceremony, reception, etc – whatever may be known).
A digital picture of the couple. This will be used when we announce the final couple.

Where do I send my Submission?

Email entry submissions and any questions you may have to freewedding@andystenz.com. And remember, submissions are due by January 31st, 2010 at midnight CST.

Mike & Melissa’s Elegant Wedding Photography ~ Fond du Lac Wisconsin

Last weekend I had the pleasure of taking wedding photography for Mike and Melissa at South Hills Country Club in Fond du Lac, WI. These two were such a sweet couple – I especially enjoyed seeing how Mike simply adored Melissa all day long. It was truly heartwarming. Not only that, but the entire wedding party and guests rocked the house when it came to dancing – I haven’t been to a wedding where the guests were more excited about dancing! It’s fair to say that I got some of my favorite reception photographs at this wedding! Congrats, Mike & Melissa! I wish you many wonderful years to come!

Mike & Melissa’s Wedding Sneak Peek

Les & Sherri ~ Wisconsin Lakeside Wedding

I cannot begin to tell you how beautiful and perfect Les and Sherri’s lakeside wedding was! The weather was absolutely perfect, the bride and groom were stunning, and all the details just fell into place. It was fabulous. I even got to teach some Floridians how to polka!
